The Washington Wrap

On last week's show we noted that it had been eleven years since the Washington Redskins lost their first two games of the preseason. Thankfully the Redskins won in week three versus the Cincinnati Bengals, because we didn't want to have to dive through the history books to figure out when the last time they lost their first three was!

This week, your Redskins Capital Connection hosts Chad Ryan and Mark Phillips are joined by the infamous Chris Russell (aka Big Sexy), as they discuss the myriad of questions emanating out of Redskins park. What happens at Defensive Tackle now that Phil Taylor is out for the year? Does the fact that the Redskins looked better in week three of the preseason assuage any concern about the season ahead? And what the hell is going on with Josh Doctson?!

All of that and much more on another jam-packed episode of the Redskins Capital Connection!

For the first time in eleven years, the Washington Redskins have lost their first two preseason games. But should we be worried? We love to think preseason doesn't really matter, but how true is that notion really?

To help hosts Chad Ryan and Mark Phillips delve deeper into that question, as well as a great range of other Redskins topics, we are once again joined by the First Lady of Football in Washington DC, Liz Clarke (The Washington Post)! Together Chad and Liz wonder about Josh Doctson's usage (12:33), Jay Gruden's mentality towards a certain favorite football player (19:16), and a look at some obvious (and some less obvious) names on the bubble as we approach the roster cut-down day (24:05).

Also, we announce the winners of our Madden 18 giveaway, so tune in to see if you're the lucky entrants! (50:20).

All of that and more on another episode of the number one Washington Redskins podcast anywhere on Earth (literally!).

Remember Redskins nation; it's only preseason.

Although the Washington Redskins players, coaches, and fans would have liked a better showing against Baltimore in week one of the preseason, the good news is that they get a chance to redeem themselves on Saturday night against the Green Bay Packers!

Your hosts Chad Ryan and Mark Phillips take you through all the big stories to come out of the Ravens game, starting with the injuries to Trent Murphy and Su'a Cravens and what that means for guys like Ryan Anderson and Deshazor Everett. They then talk about who looked good in preseason week one, but who also needs to step up if they want to make this Redskins 2017 roster.

They also spend time breaking down the interesting dynamics at play in terms of the players at Inside Linebacker, what the difference between a 'Mike' and 'Mo' Inside Linebacker is, and what configuration of personnel is most likely to succeed.

Also, don't miss our exciting giveaway; thanks to EA Sports we are giving away two copies of Madden 18,

All that and so much more on the number one Redskins podcast online, the Redskins Capital Connection!

It's beginning to look a lot like... football!

For the first time in over half a year, the Washington Redskins will be donning the burgundy and gold for live action, honest-to-god football against an opposition team!

To assist hosts Chad Ryan and Mark Phillips preview all the action for Thursday night's game in Baltimore against the Ravens, they are joined by the 2017 Redskins beat first round rookie Nora Princiotti of the Washington Times!

Together they recap all the action of Training Camp over the past week, including who is hurt, who is looking good, and who is playing for a spot on the final roster. As promised they then cast their eyes forward to what they'll each be looking for out of preseason week one, and what story-lines they'll be following.

All that and a whole lot more on this edition of the Redskins Capital Connection!

Today's show is of course focused on everything that's happened so far at Washington Redskins Training Camp, which began on Thursday last week. With the exception of Sunday, the players have been out on the track every day in Richmond, and some pretty juicy story lines are starting to emerge!

Hosts Chad Ryan and Mark Phillips are joined by the man who not only literally wrote the book on the Redskins, he wrote three books on the Redskins! He is the longest tenured Redskins blogger going around, and is a member of the Pro Football Writers of America. But beyond all that, he's also one of the most fun people to sit beside and watch football with. It is of course Rich Tandler from CSN Mid Atlantic, and together we recap all the action from the first few days at Training Camp, including who is looking good, who is struggling, who is hurt, and who is healthy, to name just a few of the topics covered.
